Human Service Council
The Human Service Council is an informal group whose members represent various non-profit agencies in the community.
Purpose
The purpose of the Human Service Council (HSC) is to provide the opportunity for members to network, share information, learn how to strengthen their agencies and become better informed about community issues.
Membership
Membership is open to all who work or volunteer with any non-profit health and/or human service agency serving Hall County .
Meeting Schedule
The HSC year runs September through June, meeting the second Tuesday of the month. No meetings are held in July or August to accommodate summer vacation scheduling. Meetings are hosted at different sites throughout Hall County . You will receive an e-mail notification stating the date, time and location of each meeting.
Hosting Meetings
The HSC looks for agencies to host meetings. The host agency takes reservations for lunch from members who RSVP to the meeting notice. The host provides lunch for the meeting, usually around $5 to $6 per person, and attendees pay on the day of the meeting. Those who make reservations for lunch and do not cancel by the date and time designated in the meeting notice will be billed by the host agency for their meal.
The host agency greets and introduces attendees, welcomes new agencies and convenes the meeting. A brief program is presented, usually a learning experience regarding their agency and information relating to who they represent and assist. This is an opportunity for the host to showcase their agency and share their experiences with other agencies in the area.
Role of 2-1-1
United Way 2-1-1 schedules host agencies for each month and sends out the meeting notifications via e-mail. If you are interested in hosting a meeting, please call 2-1-1 or (770) 534-0617.
