Resource Database Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria
The purpose of the United Way 2-1-1 database is to catalog community services, maintain accurate community information, provide information to the public at large, and link people with needed services. The following guidelines will be used in determining whether an agency or organization is eligible to be listed in the United Way 2-1-1 database.
Agencies/Programs Eligible for Inclusion within Northeast Georgia
- Private nonprofit agencies, which provide health and human services.
- Public/Governmental agencies, which provide social, educational, health and human services.
- Community and civic advocacy groups.
- Professional organizations in the health or human services field.
- Elected government officials at the federal, state, and local levels representing the residents of the service area.
- Hospitals, health clinics, personal and intermediate care homes.
- Toll-free telephone services if residents can access them and if they offer a social, health, or community service.
- Organizations located out of the geographic service area offering services not provided locally but are available to residents of the service area if they meet the inclusion criteria.
- For-profit organizations, offering services parallel to a nonprofit service, to which callers are referred and fees paid by a government agency (i.e. proprietary agencies offering homemaking services to qualified callers on the same basis as the nonprofit agencies, paid by government sources.)
- Social workers, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, mental health counselors and psychiatrists who are currently licensed for private practice in the State of Georgia who offer free service or services with a sliding fee scale.
- Self-help support groups affiliated with a church, hospital, non-profit or national organization.
- For profit agencies offering free or low cost services to the community.
Exclusion Criteria for Agencies/Programs Serving Hall County
- Private, for-profit service providers unless they meet one or more of the above listed inclusion criteria.
- Services that exclude members of the public in a discriminatory manner.
- Churches that offer no special community-based service components.
- Any organization that promotes or delivers illegal services.
- Organizations (e.g. churches, social clubs) to the extent which they offer a service only to their members.
- Agencies that misrepresent their services in any way.
Guidelines for Review, Appeals, and Elimination from Database
- If an organization/agency submits an application and is determined to be ineligible to be listed within the United Way 2-1-1 database, the 2-1-1 Director will respond with an explanation.
- United Way has the right to refuse or discontinue listing for organizations that have had complaints filed with United Way 2-1-1 or a regulatory board.
- United Way has the right to eliminate a program/organization for failing to update their record annually.
- United Way has the right to eliminate a program/organization when it is determined that the program is not in compliance with federal, state, or local laws.
Inclusion within the United Way 2-1-1 database does not imply endorsement of the organization.
Exclusion within the United Way 2-1-1 database simply indicates that criterion for inclusion has not been met; it does not signify lack of endorsement.
